From 26 February to 1 March 2018, CIVITAS ECCENTRIC held its General Assembly. Domagkpark, the Living Lab area in ECCENTRIC project city Munich, played host to proceedings.

Attendees enjoyed a busy and enriching week in southern Germany. The Munich team had prepared several interesting site visits and workshops for participants from other ECCENTRIC partner cities: Turku (Finland); Stockholm (Sweden); Ruse (Bulgaria); and Madrid (Spain).

City representatives from the ECCENTRIC Observer Group also took part in the site visits: the cohort included cities from across Europe, as well as Latin America and China.

During their walks around Domagkpark, participants could see first-hand a number of the mobility solutions being implemented there. This included electric light vehicles, intermodal mobility stations, and a central concierge system designed to optimise freight transport.

Päivi Kynkäänniemi, a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) expert from Turku, was particularly excited to hear about a new MaaS app and a heat map displaying exhaust pollution. "It is really encouraging to see what has been achieved already in such a short time. Whilst there is of course still much to do, I am really looking forward to seeing the end result."

ECCENTRIC has now been running for 18 months. The event offered the chance for cities to hear about each other's experiences and progress with their respective measures. With the project reaching the stage where the necessary preparations have been made, the implementation phase is set to commence.
